When you are making all the wrong plays? Laying down the winning hands, and check raising losing hands (as I type this I just laid down a winning straight because I smelled a flush).
Today, my tourney busting moves...
Playing a KK into an AA.
Playing a JJ into a flush draw
Playing an A hi flush into a full house...
Playing my AK into a straight
I've been getting a lot better about laying down losing hands recently, especially in NLHE, but for the past three days really, I've been standing on my bad hands, it's almost like my ring game play, except i don't get sucked out for another big bet or two, I manage to bleed off half my stack...
So my question is, is there anything you guys do when you are in a 'funk'?
Another one, just called down my King flush to an Ace flush.

I see the hands you mention and they are always tough laydowns. I always ask some questions about every bet and try to figure out what it means.
After the flop: any flush cards, straight cards or if the board pairs I worry about a set or full house.
I ask the same questions after each card comes and try to analyze betting patterns.
Not sure if this will help or not but I sometimes find it useful. Also, in NL I really try to figure out strange bets. Bets way out of line with the pot, etc....
Usually, when I'm in a funk I will take a few days off. Lately, I've been working 60-70 hours each week and that was really affecting my play so I took a few days off. I was playing angry and I was just leaking chips every time I sat down. I also go back and reread some books, just reinforcing that making good plays will pay off and getting back to solid strategy.

I look at changing my game a little in the short term - I look at playing very, very tight. Sure it means pots are few and far between and I can see my stacks decreasing, but if I wait it out and play only very big hands it can inspire the confidence that has been lacking.
All players can lose hands, even when you think you've got a very strong, the best even, hand. I just find that if it's not my night, I'll either back off for the night, or I'll put on my patient underwear and wait it out a little before committing to too many pots.

Not really, though things will seem worse when you're in that mindset that things aren't going well. True enough, those were some nice hands you struck, but not the best. You've got to try and monitor the game a little more and try and second guess these bigger hands to avoid going too far chipwise and coming out with nothing.
Perhaps changing things around, tightening up maybe as Tom suggested, I don't know I will try and even things out and if I'm still making all the wrong plays I'll call it a night.
