Personally:

Early - Fold or play if cheap
Mid - Play, but calls and folds if it gets too deep
Late - Play more often, don't go all in on the back of a low pair but look for that third on the flop

Definitely disagree - it's a strong starting hand, but that can quickly change after the flop, so I would be looking to narrow down to 1, 2 callers as I would any other hand I stay in with confidence.

I'd play with anything on suit, or any reasonably high pocket pair. He might get lucky, but it's odds on he's lookin for a cheap few first pots and scaring the competition off with the all-in.

I thought his friend won it as he had the 6 kicker? I may well be wrong but I thought it went down the hands, to the kicker?

If you could explain to me I'd be grateful, I just didn't think it worke ...

Hehe, that's harsh - people look at me funny for slapping my cards down on the table firmly and resting my hand on them till I know they've stayed there.

It's just not worth the risk, especially ag ...

Probably 1 - 2 more bets. It really depends on how marginal the hands are. If you're talking low card, off-suit, then I still would fold generally as standard unless free to continue. If you're talkin ...

Dealer should have been strung up by his sack, along with the floor manager.

You're totally right in making a fuss about it, and you should have asked the players at the table for some contact deta ...

The bane of existance

It's all well and good, but people seem to want to play and win too much too soon. They don't realise you need experience before you can play high limits and can end up lo ...

Good call, can just about turn some kind of profit with 2-4 though if you know your stuff you can make a mint playing 5-10.

Keeping confident is important, which generally comes in the form of playing aggressively. Always play confidently, right up till you fold in my opinion. The less you give away to opponents in the for ...

I play practically any pocket pair, although the amount I will commit depends on the strength.

A pair of face cards, or even a 7,8 or 9 I will play fairly aggressively, though I will stay in with a ...

There is no shortcut to earning big bucks quickly

You've got to work hard, and stick to low limits early on until you've got a good bankroll to allow you to take on the high limit tables. This i ...

You've got to be patient! You can't expect to win with every good hand you have, and you've got to take things steady.

It seems you make too many plays - you should have folded having seen a few of ...

Hard luck, but I would have called in that situation if ...
